Founded in 2022, vildwerk. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring environmental conservation through dance. We collaborate with world-renowned choreographers, dancers, composers, and conservationists to create performances of the highest artistic excellence.

vildwerk. commissions and produces original ballets that bring urgent environmental stories to the stage. Inspired by real-world conservation efforts and informed by leading scientists and environmental experts, these works are performed by artists from many of the world’s foremost dance companies, including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, and others.

Beyond the stage, vildwerk. develops education and community engagement programs in partnership with schools and conservation organizations, extending the impact of our mission to audiences of all ages.

Following two sold-out, critically acclaimed New York City seasons—Time to Protect Our Planet (2024) at El Museo del Barrio and Dancing for Our Wonderful World (2025) at New York Live Arts—vildwerk. performed as part of Bryant Park’s SummerStage in 2026 and continues to expand its growing repertory of new commissions.

On January 21, 2027, vildwerk. will make its New York City Center debut with Dancing for the Wild, an evening of world premieres and celebrated works inspired by the natural world. Tickets go on sale in August 2026.
