Founded in 2022, vildwerk. is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring environmental conservation awareness through dance. Guided by a distinguished Board and Advisory Board of leading artists and wildlife experts, we collaborate with world-class dancers, choreographers, and conservationists to create work of the highest artistic excellence.
vildwerk. produces and commissions ballets that tell urgent environmental stories rooted in real-world conservation work and informed by expert knowledge and the most current scientific research. These stories come to life on stage through performances by artists from some of the world’s foremost dance companies, including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet, and Martha Graham Dance Company, among others.
Alongside our performances, vildwerk. develops education and outreach programs, working with schools and partner organizations to deepen engagement and expand the impact of our mission beyond the stage.
Following two sold-out, critically acclaimed seasons in New York City — Time to Protect Our Planet (2024) at Museo del Barrio and Dancing for Our Wonderful World (2025) at New York Live Arts — vildwerk. has established a growing repertory of new and existing ballets and is now planning the next three years of national and international performances, expanding its reach and impact.
